I” in LOVE again, Now your asking the important question! GM had the best electric car back in the late 80’s But the oil company’s didn’t like the idea that they would loose to a new energy source. Toyota has the smartest cars on the roads today, and GM is coming out with it’s 09 Volt or maybe it 2010, We need to stick it to the oil companies who have killed all the past new energy that we have come up with! KEEP asking my LOVE!
Now you know why the north American auto industry is in trouble. They have been very lazy, greedy and not keeping up with the times. Another problem is why don’t they mass produce lighter vehicles made from composite materials? Because 90% of all composites around the world are being used buy the US military to build weapons to fight the terrorist. The US military is whoring up the worlds resources.
You can buy a used car, strip it and stick in a battery pack and a electric motor yourself. For 10-15,000 you can have a really good electric car with acceptable range. I would make a hybrid car where the engine would be powered by natural gas and I would have a compressor at my house and fill my own car with the natural gas coming into my house.
Since the vehicle would get 150+miles to the gallon you would probably never pull into a gas station again and just fill up when you get home.
